Now that Bungie have handed over the Halo reigns to 343 Industries, it was up to them to make a mark on Halo. So, as a stop gap to the new Halo trilogy, 343 Industries have jumped in and given the original Halo game a HD makeover. Fans of the Halo franchise would have dived in on day 1 and purchased the game, but seeing as how I got it as a christmas pressy and i’ve been on my hols for a fortnight, i’ve only just finished it. Well i’m slightly late to the party with this review, but fuck it, you may not be interested in this game. And why should you be? Unless you ever played it on the Sega Saturn, originally released in 1996, you would have no idea that it’s one of the best 2D side scrolling beat-em-ups that’s ever been made. “It can’t be that good?” I hear you cry……well, you’re very wrong. That’s correct guys, you read the headline correctly. Last Friday I managed to pop up to Leeds to visit the guys at Just Add Water, developers of the HD remake of Stranger’s Wrath, for an exclusive hands on playthrough of the build of the game. While I was there I also held an interview with CEO of JAW, Stewart Gilray, for a chat about the game, the future for the Oddworld series and how they go about developing a game and transforming it to HD.
